I upgraded to the ZLC. I count this as two upgrades, as I'm using it with the DHC 3 power cord. I’m very pleased with both.
The ZLC filters out noise. I’m getting a startlingly blacker background.
The ZLC also stores energy with its toroidal transformer, improving dynamics, giving that little oomph as necessary. I’ve been playing Decca classical recordings. The dynamics on these recordings is fantastic. The crescendos are now noticeably better, they have the power they need for the big moments.
The 1.5m DHC 3 power cord replaces the 10 foot captive cord of my TrippLite IS500HG 500W isolation transformer. I'm using the DHC 3 on all my other components – SE84UFO, ZP3, AudioNote CD1.1x, and Well Tempered Lab Amadeus turntable. The upgrade to the DHC 3 on each component increased detail, placement, depth and spaciousness of the soundstage. The addition of a DHC 3 directly from the hospital-grade outlet makes it all even better.
I feel as though it's these accessories, the ZLC and the DHC 3, that fully unleash my system components and speakers (Lii Song Silver 10 Origin). Clean power that provides a boost when you need it, and the best power cords improving detail and soundstage. The ZLC with DHC 3 are the finishing touches to my system.
