Maybe all the fuses and tubes have seasoned in. . . the SEWE300B is sounding fantastic this month. I just want to spin and spin and spin and have to remind myself I have other obligations and calls to my attention from wife, dog, house and family and friends.

The character of each recording is revealed as if by both a microscope and a kaleidoscope. And it's as I'm the microphone again at times. The SEWE300B is an amazing machine.

Reply #24858 - 02/16/24 at 18:31:52 I briefly compared the first track of the first disc between Sony SRCS 5715~6 from 1991 and the new Blu-Spec CD2 from 2024. I preferred the 2024 disc, though the "gap" was closer than I would anticipate. Now listening to all of disc 1 of the Blu-Spec CD2 2024.

These two LPs do sound good, but less like the original mix and mastering, at least on my current system.

Decided to jump into some funk/soul music. I’ve been pushing my Pinnacle speakers lately to break in the new caps and they are starting to really open up. Tonight I’m going to switch over to the Torii and the Err’s where I just installed new Duelund Graphite 2.5 resistors, so they are going to need some time to break in.

Yes, Milt Jackson. . . he was a fully-formed individual musician from the mid-forties on into this century. A great player!

I was reminded of another great vibe player listening to him with Benny Goodman this morning and yesterday monring: Red Norvo. Not dissimilar in style and swing from Milt Jackson. . . a great player and leader, giving Charles Mingus and Tal Farlow perhaps their first big exposure.
