Okay after that dose of sweetly sung Bacharach tunes I needed something to get my pulse back up. Was looking at a lot of hardbop on Blue Note and pulled this bebop session out and it will do the job. Everyone is "on" on this one but Lou is in my opinion the star of the show, as it should be on his date.

Currently streaming in Roon in CD quality. What a great album….this one is solid and a keeper. Roon only shows 5 albums in his discography but has appearances on 14 other albums. Looks like a have a lot of listening to do!

I did not know he had 14 albums to his credit. Tidal shows seven available for streaming, but apparently I also have much more listening to do.

I pulled a few Lambert, Hendricks & Ross and Annie Ross discs from the shelves as I had not heard them in a while.

First up this Columbia 2 cd set that reissues their three Columbia LPs. Disc 1. . . starts off so well with the Ike Isaacs Trio and Harry "Sweets" Edison.

Joao Gilberto "Joao" Verve cd

"O Mito." What can you say. . . silk and gentle breezes and nice orchestration by Clare Fischer. So soothing.

Been exploring Al Cohn’s discography and came across this album. Very solid album and a great listen. Streaming in Roon in CD quality. So…I broke down and bought the Synergistic Research Orange fuse use after getting positive results with the fuse Sean had graciously sent me. Needless to say the results were quite noticeable right out of the box. I can’t believe I waited this long to jump into a botique fuse.

Glad you discovered the benefit of good fuses!

Cohn was very interesting--heavily influenced by Lester Young, though with a stiffer feel and heavier sound. Like Getz, Moore, Sims, Quinchette, and so many other Young disciples they brought their own into his style. But myself Young is the one I listen to the most of them all. He was just such a unique stylist and musical mind.

Right now, I'm listening to the very first Kris Kristofferson album, "Kristofferson" . . . .

Lon…. The stock fuse in my SE84C+ was “hot” by comparison. More edgy and lively, but also more distorted and not as clean as the SR Orange. Today is my second listening session with the new fuse…and it’s worth it’s weight in gold. Decided to jump into a Lester Young album, and your comparison between him and Cohn is spot on.

The Super Sessions is playing through Roon….and this album has such a nice analog sound which was recorded back in 1942.

I wasn't as fond of the Orange as I was Purple and my very favorite is Audio Magic M-1. Talk about analog--we lost power over 2 hours due to high wind--nothing but real sound of wind and branches.

I still remember wind of 80 MPH that started a fire and then became a blowtorch. I have never seen anything like it. A building would be set ablaze and as the wind blew away the pieces there was nothing but the foundation left. I hope never to witness that again.
