Our miniature dachshund is a chubby old gal who has two missions: get as much food as possible, and get as much sleep as possible. She's pretty good at accomplishing her goals. We "rescued" her seven years ago when she was probably six or seven. When we first took her to the vet he said "Whoa! This lady has had a lot of litters!" She came from a puppy mill.

Jobim is one of my favorite musical characters. I must note that this SFJazz version of his compositions. . . is very jazz-based and less Brazilian based than many others and the man's himself. My favorite Jobim is "Stone Flower"--Jobim with top notch musicians and arrangements and piano and guitar from Eumir Deodata.

Some of his final recordings and full of heart and grace and a really wonderful listen hearing him interpret these works from other Brazilian composers.

This is an excellent compilation cd, "Personalide." I wanted to hear "Luiza" -- such a beautiful composition. My favorite niece (don't tell the others) dancer and dance teacher Louisa always comes to mind hearing this.

Came in the mail yesterday from discogs.

Man a previous owner really wanted you to know HE owned this one. He wrote his name in sharpie on the booklet cover, the disc itself and even on the unprinted flip side of the tray insert. Never saw that much identification before.

This is a very nice Kenny Burrell album. To my ears Kenny is wonderfully consistent. So many nice albums, some incredibly great ones.

Got in the mail two boxes of footers I wanted to try under the HR-1 in the main system and am demoing them now. They are similar in important ways to the VooDoo Cable IsoPods I like very much, but much much cheaper.

Pictured below, mine are with ceramic bearings not stainless steel).

Installed they are pretty darned good at isolating the speaker from the floor and are creating a nice presentation. They're still sinking into the carpet a little so we'll see how they sound later on.

This one again. It's going to be the "benchmark" recording I use daily to see how the new DAC is breaking in.

I have about 100 hours of spinning discs into it so far and it has changed somewhat--there's even more space between instruments, deeper soundstage, and fine details woven into the fabric of the presentation. Still a few more hundred hours to go til it is nearly all that it will be. . . and at that point I think I will install the Audio Magic M-1 fuse I bought for it.

This MK2 is going to be well-seasoned and dialed in when the SEWE300B reaches me months from now. I am eager to hear that pairing!

Hey Lon, interested in hearing more about these. I recently put hockey pucks under my 96lb speakers. An improvement, but I'm still considering something like Herbie's giant threaded gliders.

Hi Sean. Well some may object as they are not American made, but they were worth checking out and I'm glad I ordered them--they are giving me a bit of a warmer signature to the whole speaker character than the various other feet I used to decouple the speakers, without spoiling the airy sound of the midrange and higher frequencies. They are not expensive! They use the ceramic three bearing structure of the VooDoo Cable IsoPods I like so much and use throughout my systems, but without the magnetic coupling those use. They can be ordered with steel or ceramic bearings--I went with ceramic as I've used those with the IsoPods.

Thanks Lon. Looks like those will easily support the weight. In your opinion, how stable do you think those would be for a 5' tower? The speakers generally never move, but with a 5 yr old hellbent on doing what 5 yr olds do...I have to be concerned with stability IF they were to get bumped into. There is another style from that seller with threaded rod, so the top piece gets screwed onto the bottom of the speaker. However, it's M8 and I've got 1/4-20 inserts.

And as for American made, I may get able to get my father in law to make a set, he works in an aluminum foundry and loves tinkering. But he got burned pretty bad in a camping incident and isn't going back to work for a bit.

I'm enjoying the sound they contribute to.

This I think only been on cd once from CBS France, though all the material has been added to Columbia cds over the years. Fantastic music imo.

Yes "Relayer" . . . this is the SACD from that ridiculously expensive box set. Many don't like the sound of these SACDs in the set. I find the better my system gets, the better they sound, and I often play them with the "OUT" phase selected on my DAC and they seem to sound best that way.

This and "Tormato" were the last Yes albums I ever bought. Got totally into jazz after that and Yes changed and became less interesting to me.

OMG! This came out when I was in high school and every marching and jazz band in world played Birdland (except us). I own the ablum, but haven't listened to it in at least 30 years. I gave it a spin and while I'm still a little triggered there is a reason it was so popular.
