Ozzy has died

I know he wasn't for everyone, but he was a big part of my early years. From Black Sabbath to his solo stuff...UP UNTIL that dreadful woman pranced him around on TV...a legend to me. Tonight I'll be spinning my white label promo Black Sabbath record.

I haven’t listened to him for 20 years but Sabbath was a big part of my teenage musical influence. Not to mention, the inspiration it had for so many bands to follow.

My understanding is that he didn’t write much of my favorite music that he performed, but as the front man he received a lot of notoriety. Was never much of a fan of his solo work.

Regardless, he was a legend. RIP.

After reading the news, I played a MP3 file of "Paranoid" with my phone to a set of speakers via bluetooth. Setting outside with the speakers suspended above the back of my head about 30" up and back the sound was a lot better than I can recall back in the 70's. All be it a bit bass shy. Very enjoyable none the less.
The Paranoid album came out about the time I switched from a good catholic boy to hippie. A new sound on the charts that was captivating. Ozzy's stand out voice blended well with the music.

This is a good bluetooth speaker for cheap. Buy 2 for stereo use! I suspended mine on a soft roof gazebo at camp.

RIP Ozzy. I've never been a fan but it's great that he had the success he did--I admire anyone who can make a living playing music. I feel for his family that had to endure the hardship of six or seven years of progressing Alzheimer's disease. My condolences to them.

Yeah, I wouldn't be called a fan either, but a majority of my friends are and they seemed to enjoy his music immensely.

My best story about Ozzy's music is that we would always play "Crazy Train" when a certain co-worker's wife would stop by the shop.
She was a disaster, completely unhinged. I'm sure that she is a ex-wife by now.

Anyway, Ozzy now sings with the greats in the best band that history has to offer.
