New delivery from Acoustic Sounds. Just finished giving them a spin clean, and currently listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumours. Damn…it’s really good but my Japanese 1st pressing etches it out in terms of being quieter. In terms of mastering… the Pallas pressing with Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman wins. The recording is not as hot and it has better tonal balance. I found when I boosted the signal by adding gain, I the instruments didn’t become saturated.

Lon and John….thank you! Last year I spent close to 8 months of around the clock studying for a promotional exam that I passed. I did very limited listening during that time, so it’s nice to finally get back to the music.

Currently enjoying the Three Sounds streaming from Qobuz in my work vehicle. I think it’s time for a coffee break ….this album is enjoyable.

A lot of the jazz I listen to is big bands, but I never post it and I don't know why. That changes today.

On CD.

Roar of '74 has been a favorite since... the 70s. Time Check was a goto festival/competition chart for a lot of high school jazz bands back in the day, including mine. I can't hear it without flashing back to those early mornings in the band room.
