Decided to try Roon’s recommendation of “The Penthouse” live radio station. Based out of NY... here is the description...

“ The Penthouse presents classic artists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Julie London, Bobby Darren, Peggy Lee and many more… While mixing in the next generation of top shelf singers too!”

Sofar it’s a nice collaboration of music and enjoyable to play in the background. It’s a definite keeper!!

My 30 year old son is visiting and we were listening to different music and Nick Drake came up??? I wasn't familiar which I thought strange as his album was released in 1972 the same year I graduated high school. Wikipedia credits his music influincing many modern bands and I belive it.
It surely doesn't sound like it was created 50 years ago.

I realized I haven't heard the true stereo version of "Milestones" in a long time so I climbed up and pulled down this box set and am listening to the appropriate tracks on discs 2 and 3.

My stereo has changed somewhat since I last heard these discs and the sound is pretty darned good, though I have better sounding versions of the mono master.

Sun Ra “Languidity” 2 cd reissue. I listened to the first disc. Excellent mastering.

Bill Evans “On a Friday Evening” cd release.

Listened to this twice while going to and from my Dad’s in the car. Sound is okay, not fantastic, and to me it seemed less involving than some of the more recent Evans trio releases, Evans in particular seemed to be less “into it” . . . . I’ll listen again soon on the main system and see if with more focus and better playback that impression changes.

Relistening to this one, at home this time on the main system. Sound is better than in the car (of course) and though not top-notch is enjoyable.

I still feel that the performance isn't too engaging until later in the concert. So it gets better as it goes along. I do like the work of this trio.
