That being said, I am grateful to be starting the 2-channel audio journey my 16 yo self wanted but it kept putting life before his desires.

Viperfreq Verified Member Posts: 22	Re: 36 year later Reply #4 - 01/07/24 at 05:36:34 As my 16 yo self nor my 52 yo self had ever heard anything as good as this new budget system I had to try a new DAC, so I chose a Denafrips Pontus II which has been a significant change for the better. Not that the Geshelli was bad in any way.

So that brings me to my speakers, which I really love. I decided to built the medium sized open baffles from Steve’s design. Having never used a router I decided to go with a couple hundred dollar butcher block instead a thousand dollars worth of exotic hardwood. I thought that I could upgrade in the future if they turned out or sounded bad. Neither was the case…they sound great and I like the odd color stain in picked. I also chose the open baffle sub via W-15 speaker and a plate amp which adds a perfect bottom end.
