what is that tube??? (Read 6342 times)

michaelG Senior Member Offline Posts: 72	what is that tube??? 05/13/23 at 15:59:20 Hello, I got this rectifier a long time ago (10+ years) with the maintenance of an amplifier. It was replacing a gz34 but I was never able to know exactly what it is. any ideas?

Those tube were pretty cheap back then I also have a silvania 6sn7 gtb ( with the green letters) that I got for almost nothing 10 years ago. It sound great on the ufo. correction: they are sylvania 6sn7 gtA

Personally I have not found that to be universally true. You pay for good ones of the most common types though. And if you look beyond the most popular types there are great tubes out there.

For example the 12AU7 Variant 6085 sounds fantastic with adaptors in the ZTPRE, and the 7062 variant of the 12AT7 is amazing in the ZROCK2. And both are 10,000 plus hour tubes and are cheaper than CRYOTONE tubes.
