Dark Side of the Moon

Today, March 1st 2023 marks fifty years since the release of this recording. 740+ weeks on the charts, somewhere between 25 and 45 million copies sold and it still has little bits here and there that are just now being heard. Alas, the push and pull of ego and narcissism (seemingly a necessary component for a top flight ensemble) has destroyed the glue that kept the group together. Still, this masterwork is a marvel to behold.

I couldn't agree more. Although, I am also a huge fan of many of their other works. Animals, Meddle, WYWH, The Wall...

One of those albums that define a window in time, instantly recognizable, a masterwork still.

Animals is probably one of my all time favorite albums.  Although like all the other greats I've listened so much that I find it hard to let it captivate me anymore.
If you haven't heard the Flaming Lips cover of the entire Dark Side of the Moon album, it's really good.  Albeit not particularly "hi-fi", it's accurate enough to be respectable and different enough to be fresh.

That price spins a new meaning of "Dark Side".
100 hand picked LPs can be purchased at Willys for that price.
