Lii Audio's phase plugs
06/02/21 at 22:02:41
I notice that Lii has starting using its newer acrylic phase plug on the F15. My F15s have the older wood(?) phase plug. Randy (or anyone else who's heardboth), do you hear a difference between the two phase plugs?

Hi Larpy,
I was told that the change was made to the acrylic phase plugs for "consistency" .....
One of my local customers has a pair with the original wooden plugs.
If there is any audible difference between the two, I can't hear it.
Truthfully, I thought that the wooden plugs were very cool, but that's progress .....
Best wishes,
Randy

Since the acrylic version made its debut with the Crystal 10, I wondered if it represented a sonic advance. But I suppose that from the point of view of keeping inventory small, using the same phase plug on multiple models would make sense.
At least Lii didn't put the new acrylic plug on the F15, rename it the "Crystal 15," and double the price.
