Replacing Base on Torii Jr
02/21/20 at 23:51:56

Hi all,

I just bought a Torii Jr. from the forum classifieds (woo-hoo!) and plan on replacing the base. I'm wondering if any Torii Jr. owners here have switched bases, and if you sent it in to Decware, or if you had Decware ship the replacement base and swapped it yourself. Just wondering what would be the best way to do it.

I replaced the base myself on my SE84UFO2 (the corner on the original base split, so Decware sent me a replacement) but obviously the guts of the Torri Jr. are a different ballgame so it might not be as easy this time.

Many thanks for your advice -- I'm very excited to hear my new amp!

-Alex

I've had all my Decware amps, including the ZMA, out of their bases.  Just a matter of turning a few screws.

I wouldn't mess around with using a screwdriver to put the new screws in.
The tool for the job would be your big pecker. A 32 oz. Ball Pein should do the job efficiently.

I'd be careful about touching the electricals inside though.  You don't want to touch a charged capacitor.  Easy to avoid.
