08/08/19 at 09:23:00

Hi Guys, I have ordered an UFO recently, but was completely unaware of the waiting time 6 ! Months. Honestly I am not a type of a guy who would wait such a long time for anything Cheesy

I am needing a UFO or UFO2 anything stereos which could go well with my Zu Omens.

The amps need to have EU ( 220V ) voltage. Please contact me. Thnxrgds

Good luck, Ern. Most of the folks who post here are 115 volt people. Maybe you could snag a 115 volt unit and have it reconfigured to 220 over the pond. It is my understanding that the transformer would have to be hooked up different.

Ernie,

Both of my two Decware amps are 110V and I use them with step-down transformers in Istanbul.  Anything between 500-1000 watts should be more than enough.  At one point, I was thinking of having them changed/rewired to 230V, yet I remember Steve mentioning to me that a step-down transformer would partially clean the AC as well, so you should not worry about buying one at 110V.

Similarly, in my Brooklyn apartment I have been using some of my 230V gear with step-up transformers, and no problem there either.

Also, keep in my mind that the most recent Decware productions come with universal power supplies to the best of my knowledge; you just need to do some basic soldering work to make the power supply work in your region if you do not want to go with the transformer route.

Best,

Alper

Most power transformers have two input windings. Both are wired in parallel for 120 volt. You would wire them in series for 240 volt .

I will be using a PS audio power plant, so adding another or additional 110V transformers makes no sense for me. I would love to hear the manifactuer recommendation to mod the UFO from 110 to 220 V is easily possible ?

The 25th Anniversary Zen Amp page includes the following:

WORLD VOLTAGE COMPATIBILITY

All model SE84UFO25 amplifiers come standard with a 50/60 cycle world-voltage-compatible transformer and will be hard-wired for your country's voltage and supplied with the correct type of power cord.

Thats all good, and while I ordered mine, I was unware of the waiting time of minum 4 months. I wont pay and wait for something for around 6 months. I was more looking at a secondhand option.

Best of luck, sincerely meant. EU amps used come up about as often as the waiting period for the new. . . .

The material on the Anniversary page does show that a different voltage for the amp can be "easily possible."

Some things for are worth waiting for. If you wait for a UK version amp to appear you might grow a long gray beard.

As a side note, there is a link known as the Amplifier Build List. It shows the amplifiers that have been ordered and their stages of completion. The  component that dominates the amplifier build list is the ZROCK2. You might want to look into this combo.
