Tannoy mercury v4 or fonken 4" single drivers (Read 5986 times)

Lin Ex Member	Re: Tannoy mercury v4 or fonken 4" single drivers Reply #3 - 09/07/14 at 20:02:50 I "get" single driver speakers, so I think these 3" uFonkens sound absolutely brilliant nearfield with a 12" sealed sub. IME a larger single driver like the 4/4.5" can fill a room quite nicely with some help on the low end.

You or a friend with wood working tools and skills could build a pair out of Baltic Birch with Fostex drivers for <$200.

Lin Ex Member	Re: Tannoy mercury v4 or fonken 4" single drivers Reply #7 - 09/07/14 at 20:19:47 If a subwoofer has only RCA inputs you have to use an adapter, otherwise look for a sub (or sub amp if diy) that has speaker level inputs and run 2 pairs of speaker wire, one pair to the speakers and the other pair to the sub amp.
