what tubes does this use?

Greetings,

I have discovered that my wife is getting this kit for me for my bday... woo! Anyhow, the kit's description notes that it doesn't come with tubes, I have a bunch of 6n1's but I don't know what the larger tube is, rectifier I'm assuming but I haven't seen anywhere on here what type it is.

6DJ8 family of tubes...so 6922 6n1p will work.

hmm this preamp uses 5 tubes correct? What is the much larger tube positioned behind the quad of 6dj8's?  :-?

Just in case anybody else wanted to know, the rectifier tube in this kit is a 5U4G. Thanks to Sarah @decware.

well I'm a little upset now that I have 2 sets of 5u4g's and the schematic for this thing shows a 5y3gt which is NOT the same tube.  :(

per an email from Steve, "The 5U4 is a compatible alternate to the 5Y3GT.  Many people think it sounds better."
