Ziggy, help me!

I think my carpet is cutting off some of the frequencies on my MG944s.

Here is a pic of the original MG944s.  Notice the base.

Ok, and then the were upgraded to this.  Again, notice the base.

Here are mine.  They are a bit different:

Notice the base.  I have a scallop but it is actually only decorative and it is blocked.  Ziggy what can I do to create a base for my MG944s?  Would a granite slab work or maybe putting them on top of a maple block?

Match,

Great to see you on the forum again, its been awhile for sure.

I see no need to change your speaker, if you are using it on carpet...the main reason we changed to the plinth style base was, if used on hardwood/tile flooring the bass could get a bit boomy and muddy. So we worked out the base so it only saw the one material, which now makes it not care what surface the speaker is sitting on.

If you still have bass issues, it will probably be room/placement issues that need to be addressed.

Give me a call sometime preferably between 8PM and 10PM EST most evening is great 540-455-1500

Glad to see you back into audio,

Thanks.  Can you believe I'm just starting to use this since I got them from you a few years ago?

Well...NO...You are probably the only guy that has a 3+ YO pair of MG's that haven't been broken in yet.

I know what you have been doing, it was music related...right?
