I can get that. . . I've been listening to electric piano for a long time, since about '70 or so. My boarding school at the eime even had one that futzed around on (an RMI) and then on records Steve Winwood first and then my first exposure to Miles Davis was the electric material. Zawinul, Corea, Hancock. . . Corea and Jarrett on "Miles Davis at Fillmore" will make you either LOVE or HATE electric piano. I learned to LOVE it from that album!

I thought that there would not be time to listen but my ride was pushed back for an hour because of fog.

Spaciousness comes to mind on this. Deep and high sound stage with a hole in the middle at times. Interesting story on how the instruments were acquired for this.
Scamp double set including another of Martin Denny's work "The Enchanted Sea". Great stuff!

Sathima Bea Benjamin (with Duke Ellington, Ray Nance, Billy Strayhorn, Dollar Brand et al) "A Morning in Paris" Enja cd

This is a unique, to me amazing session. Produced by Duke Ellington when he was empowered by Reprise Records Sathima was inspired by her husband Dollar's presence and the amazing support of his bandmates on bass and drums, and the appearances by Duke and Billy on piano are also inspiring. And Ray Nance's pizzicato violin is wonderful. The engineering is also top-notch: one sounds as if one is right there in the band, the piano sound is full and resonant and every nuance of Samitha's unusual phrasing and commanding control and presence is revealed naturally.

One of those discs that you don't dare play too often so that its mystery and beauty can be surprising each and every time.

It's very good, a well-recorded intimate album where the accompaniment is either piano and bass or guitar and bass or piano, guitar and bass. Late Chet, and some vocals--some people don't like his singing, I have learned to really like it.

Things have not been great here with me, but we're surviving. Battling to keep my father alive, have had house damage this winter and repairs and some rejuvenation going on. My wife loves spending money on the house. I hate it.

Hang in there, I can relate my father has been suffering from Parkinson's for the last few years and it can be heart wrenching. Losing his ability to drive/work on his classic car was horrible for it's his passion. Watching/helping a 75 year old with severe Parkinson's get under a car to manually change the oil is quite the experience especially when they won't give up.
Excuse the rant had to get that out.
