My mom had the lp when I was growing up and it sunk deep into me. This is only out on cd from Japan which is so silly.

Every listen, year after year, I get drawn into the energy, imagination and the stellar arrangements for a small group. If you're a fan of the album you should be sure to have checked out the Mark Wilder transfer on the Legacy cd. So clear and dynamic.

The "Truth" album that is cd four in the Crystal Ball set. Centered around the rarely heard Prince acoustic guitar playing.

Cool. I heard that music so much about three decades ago that I rarely want to hear even a few seconds of it! Really, all the Pink Floyd albums of this time period. . . I'm burned out on them. They were all over the radio. at every party, every time someone was firing something up. Too much for me!

Right now, back to Prince.

I have had the chance to see James McMurtry a couple of times lately and I don't understand why he isn't huge. His songwriting is great and his guitar playing is pretty friggin' good. He tells complete storys of life in a 4 minutes. Listen to him, you won't be sorry that you did.

And three others, box sets in the same series from Lee Konitz, Anthony Braxton and Steve Lacy. The pirce was right. About 28 discs for less than 100 bucks.

Review here. One of those life-changers. I would meet and hear Duane Allman and the Brothers band shortly after buying this album, when my father had the temerity to move our family to Macon, GA. Wink

. Duane would be dead a few months later. Clapton allegedly said of Allman that "he could play the guitar in ways I hadn't dreamed" (likely a paraphrase).

Pale, I will try that out when my ZDAC is fixed. Right now I'm just using my Ipod. Lots of songs on it, just not the quality that my Torii and MG's deserve. I guess I could hook up my CD player but it is such a hassle messing with discs again. That is why I got out of vinyl, too much time spent on the ritual, find, clean, adjust , play, turn..... Now I just call up and play. And speaking of that, this is what is playing, not sure if it is spinning or not though.
