So, this was the *very* first album (record) I ever purchased (the original, not the MoFi pictured). I was probably 11 or 12. I loved the songs on the radio, and it was different from what my parents listen to (Beatles, Yes, Donovan).
Fast forward to a couple of months ago and this was one of the first CDs I put on my "new" system which included my Oppo BDP-105, MG944, and souped up 15 year old SE84-A....it was so uninvolving that I was like..meh, and I didn't even make it through a couple songs before I changed out the CD. I've had a few MoFi CDs that I thought were a bit flat (more on that in another thread) so I figured that's all it was. Fast Forwarded again to last night, I'm still ripping all my CDs to FLAC now that I've got a setup that I feel plays back digital files as well or even better than CD (more on that in another thread as well), and I come across my MoFi Dream of the Blue Turtles and pop it in on a whim.
Well, I was transfixed. I guess the system needed to break in a little bit, as it was very involving and had my attention as I continued to rip my CD collection...in fact it distracted me from ripping my CDs and I wound up just enjoying the music and forgetting what I was doing.

I love this stuff. No matter how much I think I know and hear, something still catches me off guard and makes me sit back and think deeply about what's happening.
