I finally picked up a copy of the Craft cd of the Savoy title "Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra."

Sounds really good (mastered by Paul Blackmore). But so does the Savoy/Denon cd I've had since that was first released. It's one of my favorite Sun Ra discs.

Slept in a bit this morning. A cool morning out there, felt nice. Starting off with Bob Dylan "Planet Waves," the second Dylan I purchased, on LP.



I love the arrangements here with the band, and these songs paint a little world I really want to inhabit.

A cool morning, Tobi was excited to patrol the back yard for a few minutes. Just when I was thinking "I should have put on a jacket" he was ready to come in for breakfast.

Re-listening to this "Stan Tracey Spectrum--Tribute to Thelonious Monk" 3 cd set, disc 1. Great sound and interesting interpretations.

On to disc 9 of this box set. . . . Soon the 1976 box will be out.

I just love Art's playing, and he is in great company here on this one recorded on March 15th, 23rd and April 25th 1972.

Didn't sleep too well, a lot on my mind--both my wife and I are dealing with things we don't want to and feeling a little overwhelmed.

The morning is a bit warmer and very still. An owl hooted at us as we walked around the block, Tobi being rather more full of pep than usual. I realize how lucky I am to have such a great dog, a real companion.

Starting off with a two cd set that I have wanted for a long time and finally saw an affordable, sort of, copy that arrived yesterday. I never realized that the outer case of this set was actually metal! Although I have a lot of the material on other cd releases, thirteen of these were previously unreleased at the time (1993) and I had not heard all of them. Great music, very well presented!
