Ironically enough, I was listening to him last night! Back over 40 years ago when I used to work at my uncle’s tailor shop… I remember him playing a lot of of Benny Goodman, and at that time, I didn’t like it. I would’ve never guessed that would be listening to him today, but I think its partly because it’s very familiar music.

Right now, enjoying this duo while having a cup of coffee and checking my emails.

Yes, my Dad played clarinet and bass clarinet in high school and he played Goodman records when I was growing up, and I saw Goodman speak and play and shook his hand when I was at the University of Chicago. . .so familiarity leads to my listening to him as well. Quite an artists, and also an early sponsor of mixed racial bands (IMO a good thing).
