A cool morning of what should prove to be another sunny day here in the mid-seventies. Like yesterday I predict Tobi the new dog will want to walk, walk, walk. . . . And I have tasks around the house to perform. Should tire myself out over the course of the day.

Starting off a listen with the new Ahmad Jamal 2 cd release from Resonance Records, "At the Jazz Showcase: Live in Chicago" which is a great way to start the day. From 1976 with John Heard and Frank Grant.

Another warm day. I heard an owl nearby as I woke up, a sound I always enjoy hearing--they've moved closer to us again, the varmint population must have grown back. Tobi our new dog heard him as well and we went outside briefly.

I'm starting the day off with Benny Goodman "Different Version Vols 1 & 2 – 40 Alternate Takes Of Recordings 1939 to 1940" Phontastic 2 cd set, disc 1. Got this from dustygroove.com really inexpensive, and the sound is excellent. This band was so very "on" at this time.

Nobody had been posting besides Lon and CAJames. Anyway, I've been on a J.J. Cale binge. "Naturally" is now playing. I gotta say that Tidal has an almost bottomless well to drink from.

On another note, I am a big JJ Cale fan (as Clapton was). And yes, Satchmo too - especially the King Oliver and WC Handy records.
