Tonight I'm playing "Tom Petty, The Best of Everything".

It is strange to think I've been listening to His and the Heartbreakers music since I was in High School back in the mid to late 70's.
For whatever reason I've thought of them as "new music".
There is a strange concept of mine of New Music Vs. Old Music that takes place around 1977-78, anything before '78 is considered old to me.

Tom Petty rides that line, as does say, Van Halen or Blondie.
It is a strange line in my mind centered around graduating from High School in May of '78.

Anyway, as my friends and I always say "Who doesn't like Tom Petty"?

It's interesting that a listener supported classical music radio station here has as a motto "all music was once new." I find that a fascinating concept to ponder when encountering music for the first time.

Brr. It's cold out there. Inside it's nice. Starting off with another great piano trio recording on Muzak Japan cd.

Del Ferro on piano, keyboard, and Fender Rhodes, Andre Vasconcellos on acoustic and electric bass, and Marcio Bahia on drums.

A bit warmer this morning. Welcome. Still and silent. . . the weekend mornings are quieter as the few neighbors sleep in.

Starting off with the interesting box set released yesterday of two Bill Evans Trio (LaFaro and Motian edition) studio LPs released with a ton of alternates and outtakes. In excellent sound.

So far this copy is perfectly fine; I really do like the music of Ms Coss.
