Tizian Jost Trio "United in the Big Blue" Enja/Muzak Japan lp facsimile HQCD

I bought this one because it was way cheap and I really like the sound of Muzak mastering of cds . . . and it's quite a nice piano trio date.

Toru Dodo "116 West 238 St" Jazz City Spirit/Muzak cd

A very interesting piano trio, the bassist in particular draws attention.

Toru Dodo on piano, Reuben Rogers on bass, John Lamkin on drums.

Tonight I'm playing "Tom Petty, The Best of Everything".

It is strange to think I've been listening to His and the Heartbreakers music since I was in High School back in the mid to late 70's.
For whatever reason I've thought of them as "new music".
There is a strange concept of mine of New Music Vs. Old Music that takes place around 1977-78, anything before '78 is considered old to me.

Tom Petty rides that line, as does say, Van Halen or Blondie.
It is a strange line in my mind centered around graduating from High School in May of '78.

Anyway, as my friends and I always say "Who doesn't like Tom Petty"?
