A cold morning. Right before bed had an emergency--Fiona the dachshund was bleeding profusely from the mouth--I think she lost a tooth. Blood got all over the sofa cover, my pants and shirt, and towels we threw down all over the rug. Took an hour or so to get it to stop, gave her a dog aspirin. She went to sleep and is back to normal this morning--exceeding my expectation. She's really a trooper.
Decided to listen to a chill pill, the 85th Anniversary Blue Note Japan UHQCD version of Grant Green's "Idle Moments." It sounds great. It is hard to not make this session sound great.

After a full listen I used this disc to do some tube rolling of the 12AU7 positions in my Decware ZROCK2 and SEWE300B—settled on an Amperex 5814 in the ZROCK2 and a favorite tube of mine, a Holland made “Sunbeam” labeled 12AU7 that just adds a magic bit of body to the sound, which was needed as I have that 5814 in the amp which is very “precise” and a treasured pair of RFT 7308 in the driver positions for the 300B-Z tubes in the amp, which are also quite precise and accurate sounding.
