oh yeah, i just bought cymbals off amazon, just went used cd for $16.
also saw a Dolphy dvd, titled "so long eric" i think it was. cost $7, i think it is 4 performances from the early 60's...about 50 minutes. should be good.

listened to the new Bill Callahan last night.
Also, a Boredoms cd my neighbor loaned me, japanese band, early recordings are real noisy, the later ones are more krautrock-ish.
Got the new Bonnie Prince Billy to listen to tonight.
Also have a live recording i downloaded. Marc Ribot with Chad Taylor (chicago underground) and Henry Grimes.

Was listening to all SACD today except this one on now, a regular cd I got in the mail that is an Andy Bey cd only available in Europe at the moment.

Andy Bey has become one of my very favorite singers. He is so controlled and yet emotional and expressive, he sings with the wisdom of a life lived fully, and he usually accompanies himself with superb piano playing. (I think it's so astonishing to REALLY sing and REALLY play an instrument at the same time.) On this one it's just Andy, his voice and piano.

I recommend Andy Bey. (He needs the support) Wink

This is such a great recording in all ways. This time through I'm noticing little melodic quotes in the piano accompaniment that just add a depth if you know the songs they refer to. This guy is an accomplished master.
