Is The Temptation TOO Risky? I sense a red flag!

Being that an authentic quad set of these tubes would sell for around $400 + with a US based dealer, and also considering the fact that PS-vane tubes are manufactured in China, and then noting that this is direct from Ali-express, this sure looks inviting to order knowing that if they are the real thing, and they are as they say, then this would be too good to pass up. If they are counterfeit, then just a complete waste of money.

This falls into the category of being "Too good to be true".

BUT, for a QUAD set of matched el34PH tubes from PS-vane at a markdown of 79 percent off ?????? I really have to wonder if this has any sense of legitimacy at all.

I am not sure about the quality either considering there is a mixed bag of reviews on these. There was a Decware amp owner who said that one popped immediately in his amp. He switched tubes and the other tube popped as well.  Not sure what that was all about, but that makes me really wary of buying these tubes.

So many people on other forums or who have left product reviews state how these are the best tubes available sound-wise. That is great, but if they don't stand up to the test of time, they are worthless to me no matter how good they sound.

I know there has been talk on this forum about these tubes in the recent past, with a mention of these tubes lasting over 800 hours without a hitch.

I can stand to lose $60.00 on a risk such as this, but if I paid $400 for a set of these and they had longevity issues, then I would be really upset to say the least.

So, if anyone cares to comment, what do you think about this offer?

Something tells me that I need to use strict judgement concerning this seller offer and be very cautious before even considering ordering this set.

The price is low enough, even direct from China, that suspicion raises a red flag.

If these ARE authentic, then this offer is too good to pass up.  I would love to try them out in the ToriiMK3 and see if they are what users say about them, hopefully in a positive aspect.

If you use these and have a great deal of time on them, I would like to hear about the results.

If anyone knows of deception here from this seller, then please inform me of it.

I really don't want to throw away money on a set of worthless tubes as that could go to a set of quality tubes from a reputable source.  I absolutely will NOT pay upwards of $400 to $500 for a set of these in the US. Completely unwarranted and not worth it.

So here are some images of the tubes for sale.  Tell me what you think about this.

My better judgement cautions me to leave this offer alone.  But I am considering the risk.

Actually, the price for a quad set of these is $214.92.

Maybe not such a low price after all, but I think I will pass.

About the same price as Decware's el34 quad set. Probably safer purchase with Decware.

In my hot/cold experience with Psvane tubes I learned it best to deal directly with Psvane. I know they have quality control issues from first hand experience but when dealing direct they are very responsive on fixing issues.

My only comment is tube manufacturers have always had B-stock, or seconds. Back in the day when RCA, Sylvania etc. were turning out millions of tubes they would pick random tubes from a production run and thoroughly test them. If too many didn't meet the spec that run would be seconded, and typically sold for cheap to a relabeler who would rebrand them and sell them to the public. Realistic (aka Radio Shack) was such an outfit and infamous with the guitar players I knew for selling cheap tubes (with lifetime warranties) that were often terrible.

I have no idea what PSvane's QC procedures and policies are, but I'd guess they are similar to what tube companies have always done. So if you see a tube deal that is too good to be true, it's likely B-stock.

Several times I purchased too good to be true items from Aliiexpress just to see what would happen.  One was a automatic litter box, another was a gas generator and in both cases the items never shipped, so 30 days goes by, item never ships, request a refund, get a refund.

You just gave these people your money to use for 30 days.  It's a scam.

If reliability and consistent performance are your top priorities, don't buy that $60 tube. There's a high chance it's a fake, defective, or untested tube that could damage your precious amp.
