People and their fancy buckets, I'm more of a garbage can kinda guy!

It does sound better if you fill it with ice cubes.

Or failing that, the box that the sub driver came in.

So apparently -  in order to obtain true fog-horn-level bass, one must make a pipe to dimensions of an actual fog horn pipe.

I love it when some enterprising soul takes it upon himself to turn the figurative into the literal.

They are quarter wave subs. I seem to remember that I needed 93" or such to make them work with the drivers I used.

My neighbors hated them because the wave length came together someplace out toward the end of my driveway.  To get good bass in my garage meant that there was serious thumping out in the road in front of my house.

A friend told me that he could hear my subs a block away from my place.

I still have them out in my shed, I might need to drag them out to introduce all of the new neighbors to them.

I was just funnin' with the fog horn reference but, no lie, image of the pipe from a tug boat horn came to mind when I saw those subs.

But anyway, if you put them in service again using the 'open garage door port' it might be fun to feed some actual ship horns into them.

BicycleJoe.

I have three sub amps.

A pair of RYTHMIK plateamps a370peq each at 370 watts for the four 15 inch woofers that are a part of the black baffle speaker system you see in the picture.

I then have a crown 2500 to run the 4 bucket subs. It provides significant power for the purpose.
