Driving W-15 and F-15
05/12/22 at 20:00:43

I see images of a single W-15 and pair of F-15 in open baffles with a single decware amp. (some images I've seen on Caintuck audio).

What is the best way to drive this combination? I don't know the other components in this photo or how others have done this. Please let me know if there is a standard/best way to do this Smiley

aaronbeach,

For a single W-15 this is the easy and has been used by Steve and Randy in Caintuck. Dayton Audio SA100 100W Subwoofer Plate Amplifier. Tested the plate amp for a short time with the W-15. Working on my next version of my test baffles now. Just some F-15's and a W-15 in some butcher block countertops. Should be done shortly for testing. In the Betsy open baffle thread Randy has written about that combo.

aaronbeach,

Were you thinking about buying or building a baffle?

ordering baffle's from Randy

He said he runs the left/right channels of the SE84UFO from the F-15's into each voice coil of the W-15 (passie subwoofer)

I like this idea. This sounds like it's series, Does anybody run it in parrallel?

Nice Randy's baffles are well worth it. So you say Randy is running the W15 at full range with F15's?

Anybody out there know more about this? I don't know enough to comment about that.

No Randy has 100hz low pass filter on each coil on the W-15

I spoke with Randy about this as well in setting up my pair of F15s with a W15 using my ZMA.  I run both channels from the ZMA into the high level inputs on the Dayton plate amp, then connect the terminals on the W15 to the output lead for the subwoofer driver. The F15s are connected directly to the ZMA and don't run through the plate amp. The set up seems to work well.
