Why Pin 1 on the 6P15P-EV?

From what I can tell, the 6P15P and SV83 both have G3 connections to both pin 1 and 6.  But the 6P14P and EL84 have G3 only on 6.  What's the reasoning behind using pin 1 over pin 6 if that would disconnect your suppressor grid when using 14's or 84's?

In EL84 and 6P14 suppressor G3 is connected to the cathode internally. Neither have any connections to pin 1 or 6.
