Zkit parts
11/27/21 at 05:50:03

I just ordered 2 zkit boards. Is there an updated parts list?
Also, is there a Hammond or other brand transformers that can be substituted to avoid the 8 week lead time on the Edcor?

Thank you

You can use a different brand, just match the specs.
There are a few companies that do custom transformers, but you will probably wait just as long.

Hi,

I recently built two of the Zkit1 boards, seems to me maybe the edcor transformer is too high in voltage….

I am getting 420V, which is expected.  So, the 1k 5w resistor is dropping nearly 50V, so it is dissipating nearly 5w…

And that leaves approx 370 0n the output tube plates, aren’t they rated to 300V?

Anyone else have this situation?

Mark

I used the 272FX for my clone amp. It has the rectifier heater, but you wouldn't use it.

The DSE/10W should work.

I found a link in another forum on this site but I'm unable post the link due to being a newbie. I'll need to make a few other posts first.

This link is from the Z kit 1 support forum. I found it very helpful in finding the parts to order for my Zkit.

There's no power cord connector or switch included in the list and there may be other missing parts as well. As a super novice, I currently have no idea what I'm doing, but am reading all the posts to try to figure out how to build this thing. Many parts ordered already. Awaiting transformers.

I found this list. Ordered everything from it. I’m also wondering about tube rectification vs the diodes. Can anyone offer anything on that?  Thank you everyone!!!

Hi,  you will need a a power transformer with a 5 volt tap to run a rectifier tube.  It sounds better some say.
