Indeed, Welcome!

I used this picture for a facebook post to illustrate an example of how to properly execute a 2.3 watt Zen Triode Amplifier.

Thank you Dr3wman, piezoman and of course Steve. It's only been a day and I'm really delighted. The PAP Quintet 15s may be large but they're 96/97 db efficient so even in my moderately large space, 2 watts is enough for even pretty loud music. One of the terrific things I've found about them is that since they do move a lot of air, they also play very well at low to moderate levels.

I'm really psyched on becoming a member of the Decware family. It's about time I joined.

Well, well, small world.  I just got an SE84UFO wit anniversary mod, picked up used.  I have been working with Ze'ev and have the PAP Trio 15 PiFe in Classic form incoming.  I went with the Mundorf cap/resistor upgrade.  No delivery date yet.  Ultimately I will have a SE84UFO25, the SE84UFO is to get me by.  I'd love o learn of your listening experience as well as Groovy Sauce's with the PAP's.  I also like your Timbernation rack. It is on my list as well.  My first thought is to work with someone local with local wood.  If that does not pan out then Timbernation.

Yes the photos you have pasted did take place at the BLM protests last summer but the violence they portray and the people who committed them represent a small percentage of the overall protests that took place last summer. You have exaggerated what actually took place to make some kind of point.

However the problem for me is how one can even compare the BLM protest's with the attempted coup/insurrection on the US government led no less by the sitting US president.

Do not try to deny it. WE All Saw It !

Political posturing in this forum is futile. It creates un-winnable arguments that just divide us. If we never posted anything other than situations we were personally involved with on a first name basis no one would ever have anything to post about politics. That means all we are doing is regurgitating what we hear on different media outlets to each other which is as I said futile. Please lets let this man have his thread back so we can continue to enjoy his insights about his new system.

Steve

Alan de,

Thanks much for the report and the great snapshot of your wonderful system.

Of course I noticed the two turntables right away. That's where I'm headed eventually.

If I may ask ("enquiring minds" etc.), what models of TT, and what cartridges are installed?

Thank you.

Edsonic, Thanks for the kind comments. As for the turntables, it was a journey. Back in the day my first tt was a Garrard changer (would you believe 1958> Then a Garrard with no changer capability, but auto stop. Think the next was BIC. Then several Pioneer manuals. Then several Regas. Next a VPI Prime with a bunch of mods. Now we're into the current set-up. First the table on the left. I found that I was accumulating a lot of mono albums, both old and re-releases. So I decided a wanted a dedicated mono table. VinylNirvana whose specialty was resto modding old AR and Thorens tables. I thought that would be really cool and appropriate  as a mono tt. Mine is a TD 160 Super. The arm is a Jelco 850 and the cart is an Ortofon Quintet Mono. Mono records definitely sound better played with a mon cart.

Right table is my pride and joy as well as a economic stretch, even used. It's a Swiss Thales Compact with a Thales Simplicity tonearm. The cart is a Kiseki Purse Heart. The engineering genius of both the tt and the arm are spectacular, The manufacturing and assembly quality are beyond spectacular. The audio is to die for. It's a lifetime keeper!!!!!

Indeed, a very nice system.

Since you brought the rest up, it reminds me of the notion of two friends who suddenly realized they should never have been friends. Everything necessarily comes to a screeching halt because one learns of a very destructive worldview from the other and thru the lens of self-awareness necessarily ends that relationship forever because that worldview cannot simply be ignored [let's take the term "politics" off the table, which is a petty spiteful game that politicians use as a tool for power, and nothing to do with the much deeper acquired worldview which is the real window into one's psyche].

There is nothing "futile" about fighting destructive progressive-Marxist ideologies, for example the idea that the BLM/Antifa riots of last year that burned swaths of cities to the ground and murdered people "were necessary to teach America a lesson", or the right to bear arms must be infringed upon, or the U.S. Constitution is somehow a "living document", or that labor unions, especially public labor unions are the cat's meow,  or that all white people are born racist because its an issue of DNA, and they're the only racists on planet earth, or the covid-19 shot should be shoved into everyone's shoulder via the brute force of gov't or by proxy, its corporatist minion CEO's.

So yes, regular everday people with the kind of selfish, revolutionary worldview-ideology exemplified above are already very destructive to society because its those malignant thought processes that transcend into daily life....and they teach-destroy their kids.....and God forbid when that kind seizes any kind of power over others.
