ZMA Phase Inverter Tube question
05/01/21 at 01:07:06

Does the phase inverter tube used in the ZMA have any effect on the sound? If so, what are some noteworthy tube recommendations? If not, then I assume you leave as is?

Thanks!

Answer is yes for both the phase inverters and the input tubes.  I like the Tungsram PCC88 in these positions.  I also like the Russian 6N1P-EV tubes there but not as much as the Tungsram.

If you go back several years when the ZMA was more recently released, there is a thread where tubes were discussed.  One guy, Stone-of-tone, had some strong preferences.
