Lii F15

I am looking to do a project with the Lii F15 full range.  Similar to Steve's Big Betsy.  I was wondering if there are thoughts here on the need for a tweeter.  If yes then what have you used or considered using for the tweeter?

I don't find anything missing with the F15 in a large baffle.  And that's compared to the HR1s that have a tweeter that goes hyper-sonic!  You could always try an auxiliary "super tweeter"?

Thanks Archie.  I was thinking a baffle size in the realm of 28x36.  That may not be ideally big enough but that would pretty much be the limit of my spouse acceptance factor.  I think a tweeter could easily be added on.

Is that in the range of Steve's Medium baffle?  I recall he thought he got most of the benefit of the full size with the medium.

The full size are truly huge.  But the aren't very deep -- relatively.

It was about 2 weeks ago that I finished a DIY version of the large scale LiiF15. I do not find them lacking at either end of the audio spectrum - or the mid range either. My player is iTunes via a laptop. I do employ its built-in equalizer to take some boom out of the lower end. I do boost a bit at 8K, because I like cymbals decay.

They were about half-cost to build compared to my Decware ZOB DIY project. I thought that the ZOBs were unbeatable listening pleasures. That was until the Lii F15s were broken in after a few days. WOW! I think I have to plan on selling the ZOBs.

Sounds like my experience.  I can't wait to hear the speakers that finally top the F15s in large baffles!  (I wanted to add an excited smiley face but I loth those animated atrocities!)

I don't understand using a large band driver like the F15 and use it with a tweeter, losing the benefit of the large band (no filter). If that is to make a two ways, I believe it is better then to use a real woofer.
This F15 is an excellent driver. It didn't work for me to use it into an OB but I wonder if it couldn't be used into a ZOB.
I use it into a Karlsonator of my own style and it is beautiful.
