Welcome, Wigand. If you haven’t seen this, check it out:
www.modelpromo.nl/audio-dandy/reviews/The%20Liiondias%20Open%20Baffle%20Speaker/...I have built several versions. While I have not measured the W-15’s myself they are listed as 91.3 or 95.6 db depending on whether you use one or both voice coils. I found the lower efficiency a better way to tame the hum from the 300b but the W-15’s are not as authoritative in this combination with the few watts the 300b puts out. It depends on your music preferences really. If you like big bass the W-15’s really shine crossed over lower and driven by a separate amp. But if you primarily listen to music without much information in the lower frequencies the W-15’s will help dampen the hum from the amp.
I personally couldn’t listen to the crossover after living with only single range drivers for so long. Once I added the crossover it sounded like I had wet blankets over my speakers.
If you end up giving it a try and build your own crossovers send me a PM, I have all the parts and would give you a steal of a deal on them.
