The reason is probably that the Mystery Amp, like the 60 watt mono blocks is a final destination amp, not an entry level amp like the Zen.

With the right drivers, it IS an end game amplifier. Mine is the last amp I’ll ever buy. I’m never lacking in volume. Could not be happier with it.

But I doubt it would give near enough volume for the space. My prejudice tells me that the Zen is still a "niche" amp. (Right now I'm upstairs listening at 1/4 volume on my ZMA!)

Here is a picture of part of the space. The footprint is nominally 17'X35'. I was just pointing out that not all spaces will work with a Zen.

And there's no such thing as destination anything for me. It's all about synergy between speakers, room , amp, Pre, etc and it's also fun to try different things. Call me crazy. Variety is the spice of life.

You'd be surprised at how good the acoustics are. The sloping surfaces really break things up and there are lots of other surfaces that help. It certainly isn't a treatable room though. Sound quality across the volumes stays sharp. Funny thing is that some sounds are louder upstairs than down. What isn't shown is the grand piano in one of the corners. I've had live music solos and duets of many different instruments in years past and it always sounded great.

Back to the point, I still don't think 2 watts would ever satisfy in a space like this.
