Geno,
I do not know the capabilities of the LRaven audio PC, but if you can load conv filters into it, I highly recommend looking into Home Audio Fidelity.
I went that route after some long drawn out correspondence with several well regarded acoustic material sellers.
The bottom line, from what I gathered, was that every space needs a minimum of 100 square feet of absorption, 200 square feet being the the norm and 300 square feet being optimal.
This gets rid of all of the peaks and is the first mandatory step before even considering any diffusion, if you diffuse without first applying enough absorption, you are just diffusing the peaks into your space and making things worse.
I had neither the extra space or funds to go that route, I took some measurements and paid around $250 for standard and cross fade filter sets and couldn't be happier with the results HAF provided.
I will also add that even symmetry will make things sound much better.
Being off center of the peak is not going to help.
