ZP3 crackling
07/03/20 at 03:39:47

Hi Forum,
My ZP3 has started making crackling noises and I'm not sure what's going on. It's not the tubes; I swapped them all out with brand new known good tubes and the crackling persists.

Could it be overheated resistors or caps? I haven't taken the hood off yet to look yet, just seeing if anyone can shed some light before I do so.

Thanks-Geoff.

Did you figure out the cause?

My first guess is a loose connection somewhere.

Yes, sorry I thought I updated this thread.

I swapped my ICs from my TT to the ZP3 and the crackling stopped. What really threw me, was that it sounded like bad tubes or noisy resistors.

Thanks for following up.

Best-Geoff.
