25th Anniversary Mods - Torii MkIV - purchasing
05/20/20 at 19:37:31
Please pardon my ignorance of the Torii MkIV 25th Anniversary mods.
On the order form page, there are two 25th Anniversary mods listed:
-Glass Resistor Mod - $280
-Beeswax bypass cap mod - $600
Are both mods supposed to be purchased if a buyer wants the 25th Anniversary performance?
The order page only allows the buyer to purchase one or the other, but not both anniversary mods.
Please advise.
Thanks.

I would wait to see if Steve answers but the capacitor bypass is the real anniversary mod, the glass resistor is an additional mod that he has offered on some models as supply permits. I don't know if he can do both on this model or if it is just a webpage issue, getting word from Steve or Sarah would be the way to know.

They are separate upgrades. Put a note in the order and double check with Sarah.
When I spoke to Steve about the glass resistors he said yes they are better. However they are just a little better and they are very expensive. The cool factor is off the charts because they are NASA NOS. Once they are gone they are gone.
If your Budget is tight the beeswax bypass is the one to choose.

Yes, Steve told me, "the glass resistors are very very hard to hear." Still, there is no denying the "cool factor"!.........but at a large relative cost.
