Steve, how about a Purist Mod for the SE84UFO.

Input jacks mounted next to the input tube.
There's plenty of room.

My SE84UFO sounds magnificent as is.  Got goosebumps tonight listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Second Helping.  And I don't use a preamp.
