Headphone hum eliminator

I have an SE84UFO amp that I use with headphones, primarily Sennheiser HD800's. I tried several resistor values to eliminate the hum I was getting to no avail. There was always audible hum to various degrees.

Then I came across this page: https://robrobinette.com/HeadphoneResistorNetworkCalculator.htm

I used 5W Vishay/Mills wirewound resistors in the values given at the top of the page: 2R between the +/- and 6R in line with the + as shown in the diagram towards the bottom. This circuit also gives the amp an 8 ohm load, even with no 'phones connected. I use a 4-pin XLR jack instead of a regular 1/4" jack because, well, it's just better.

Result? The hum is 99% gone. Barely audible, with no loss of fidelity.

It works equally well with  both low and high impedance 'phones.
