Beethoven made my rig sputter...
07/19/16 at 14:22:29

I've been checking out different music lately as I have new components to burn in.  Last night I popped in some classical music, Beethoven.  It started out okay but during the more complex parts the music turned into a mess; clarity disappeared, it got mushy, and I couldn't understand what was going on.

So, I don't listen to classical music very much and if I do it is usually a quartet or some Yo-Yo Ma.  Meaning that this isn't really going to change much for me but beyond that, what would I need to change up to get orchestral music to shine with greater clarity?  More power?  Speakers?

Thanks in advance....

System; Cambridge CXC transport > Bel Canto DAC > ZBOX > CSP > Van Alstine Synergy 240 > Decware MG944.  I don't play very loud.

Can you listen to the recording using headphones?

I have an original CSP and this version has no headphone option.
