I'm so glad I got my #1 ZMA for a grand less ($4695)! Two years tomorrow anniversary (1/22/14 she arrived). Love it. Especially running NOS Platinum Cryo Ediswan's out of my CSP3 to NOS Platinum Ediswan 6922 Inputs of my ZMA!

I digress. Anyway, no mention in the Audiogon add...about transferable Lifetime warranty. If I recall correctly, it needs to be shipped to Steve for a checkup/to renew it...then out to the new used Owner/with full warranty (renewed)?

True Ned, but not as bad as you would think. I assume he bought it with the $1000 introductory discount, so it sold for $1522 less than he bought it for...a 28% discount. Or $2522 off without the introductory deal, at current prices the buyer got a 39+% discount. Also consider the buyer doesn't have a warranty unless he ships it to Steve and pays for one.

I was tempted to throw in a bid but forgot about it. I am curious how the ZMA would compare to my Torri MK IV but 4K would be pretty expensive to satisfy my curiosity. I'm very happy with the Torii and my speakers don't require the extra watts.

I had put the ZMA on my watch list so I was able to see the sold price. Mark.

I believe he did pay the $6500+ price. The seller mentioned he only owned it for 6 months and it was #32 or 34 made/serial....I remember seeing in the Pic's.

Judging from this sale...even with my Red Mallory/better Caps.....I would take a beating, if I sold! I don't have the XLR Inputs or Increment Volume....don't need um' (with my Cabling and CSP3).

Well, I'm not selling. I will not be giving this great Amp away. So, I guess I'm stuck with it. I can live with that!

Well, I feel fortunate to have stumbled across the ad and put in a bid. I was actually looking for high sensitivity speakers in order to explore the SET world. However, the ZMA looked too good to pass up, and I'm now enjoying it. No high sensitivity speakers needed, however. I am using a pair of JM Reynolds (Offrande Supreme).

This is the first amp I've used that doesn't need a preamp. However, are there any recommended pairings (preferably solid state)?

Congrats and welcome DB2.

Like Donnie mentioned...NO Solid State. Steve's CSP3 with Jupiter Caps or the new ZTPRE, is the way to go.

Yes, the ZMA can drive your Reynolds..... . However, they ran my Adagio's quite well too. I took my Acoustic Zen's to a whole other level by gutting the x-over's, having them swept, to find the ideal 4.5k single cap crossover point. From highs to mids, to the control and dynamics through the Transmission Lines.....just f'in right and musical!

....to wrap up my thoughts above; Cables matter too (no matter what the lamp cord user's say). The addition of my KS6063's to my Adagio's & Alpha power cord to my ZDSD DAC........ = done.

.....except for bringing in the best of NOS 6922 tubes and seeing what a Pass XA30.8 can do in a challenge this fall! The ZMA goes nowhere...but can the Pass stay for occasional rotation in? I will hear...... .

Final note: let the Caps drain 24 hours, when tube rolling. Better safe than sorry.

PS: Back to Preamp.....the ZMA truly excels with the CSP3. The ZMA gain, can be set at 10, 15 or 20% max only needed, up from 0. Preserving its maximum incredible abilities in Class A/No Negative Feedback.

.....see my gain/volume settings and voltage output/CSP3....above a couple posts.
