No, you don't. The M-T is a dual-mono configuration, so each channel is independent of the other. Of course, you will want to have all the opposing tubes in more or less the same shape to avoid level differences, but it is not critical, especially if you have volume pots on each channel.

Having said that, I prefer to order matched pairs because the seller needs to check them out and this becomes an additional quality screening that may save you from buying a lemon tube.
