Baldwin 12AX7 matched low noise pr., ideal for ZP3
08/24/13 at 03:51:37

I'm selling a strong matched pair (1200/1200-1200/1200) of Baldwin Raytheon 12Ax7 tubes, both dated 1960.

1250 is the average strength of a new tube, but I have never seen these available NOS.  They were selected for low noise and great tone, for use in Baldwin's organs.

With low noise, tight bass, and sweet mids they are ideal for use in a Decware ZP3.  I previously used 60's Mullards and 1959 Amperex in my own ZP3, and found that I prefer the Baldwin/Raytheons over both of those.  They have a special keeper above the top plate, which contributes to the low noise.

These are the preferred early production tubes, with long black plates, halo getter, and the special top keeper. They still have most of the Baldwin lettering.

Very nice tubes for $38.00, which includes First Class mail shipping.
I'm selling as I really don't need several pairs.
Paypal is fine.

Thanks!
Mike

OK,  I've decided to sell a second tightly matched pair of the Baldwin selected low noise 12Ax7's made by Raytheon.

This pair has the same measurements as the one I sold earlier, 1200/1200 and 1200/1200.

Both tubes were made in the 37th week of 1959, but much of the original lettering wore off, after I cleaned/treated the pins with Caig Progold.

These tubes were tested for noise/microphonics in a Dyna preamp.  Ideal for use in a Decware ZP3 (that's what I use) or preamp.

$38.00 includes free First Class mail shipping. If you are unhappy with the tubes, you can return them within 7 days for a refund.

Thanks!
Mike

Payment received from Nat, for the 1st pair of phono grade Raytheon 12AX7s.

The second pair of these "sleeper" tubes, is still available.

Thanks!

One thing I would like to add about the 1959 Raytheon 12AX7 phono grade tubes I am selling...

In my own ZP3, I have found them to be very detailed, but with a touch of warmth.  They are superb tubes, as nice as any of the European tubes.  Go to OldStockAudio's website for more on these and a few other 50's-60's US made "sleeper" tubes.

OK,  I found I have more of these first rate 12AX7's than I originally thought, so I'm selling one more pair.

The lettering on this pair is somewhat worn off, but both tubes are either 1959 or 1960 manufacture.  This pair tests super strong, 1300-1300 and 1350-1300.

Pins are straight, and cleaned with Caig ProGold.  Tested in a preamp for microphonics.

The price is the same as before, $38.00 for the pair.  You can return for a refund if not happy.

Thanks!

No interest in my last (and strongest) pair of Baldwin/Raytheon 12AX7's?

OK, I'll lower the price to $33.00, which includes First Class mail shipping.

Why am I selling?  Well, I'm still keeping five pairs for myself.

Thanks for looking!
