25Z6G rectifier (Read 6371 times)

25Z6G rectifier

Hi all,

Picked up a few tubes… on of them is a 25Z6G Zenith rectifier. Wondering if I can use it in either my Taboo MkII or my CSP2+ preamp. It will plug into either one but I have been afraid to power up with it in place. My google-fu has failed me in finding this answer.

The other tubes are

25L6G Zenith Power Tube???
6A8G Tung Sol Frequency changer???

Any help would be great, Thanks

The words appear to be in english…… I could barely determine that it was a rectifier. No clue if I can use it or not.

Posts: 300	Re: 25Z6G rectifier Reply #3 - 07/09/13 at 04:28:00 Hi Damien, The description says that the tube is not a full wave rectifier, so I don't think it will work sonically, if at all. The normal 5Y3 and 5U4 rectifiers are full wave rectifiers and provide DC current for both sides of the AC mains voltage.
