Hi all,

Picked up a few tubes… on of them is a 25Z6G Zenith rectifier. Wondering if I can use it in either my Taboo MkII or my CSP2+ preamp. It will plug into either one but I have been afraid to power up with it in place. My google-fu has failed me in finding this answer.

The other tubes are

25L6G Zenith Power Tube???
6A8G Tung Sol Frequency changer???

Any help would be great, Thanks

Oh yeah I can find specs on it but I am such a novice at tubes that the specs don't mean much to me. The words appear to be in english…… I could barely determine that it was a rectifier. No clue if I can use it or not.

Hi Damien,

The description says that the tube is not a full wave rectifier, so I don't think it will work sonically, if at all.

The normal 5Y3 and 5U4 rectifiers are full wave rectifiers and provide DC current for both sides of the AC mains voltage.
