Just figuring out the placement in advance, if you guys can help...
Ideally I'd like to put in on the 3rd shelf of the rack (this is below the turntable, which sits on the topmost shelf)
The amplifier is 8' high (I am assuming this is the top of the rectifier tube?) and the usable space on the shelf is around 8'75... would it be too little room for the rectifier to "breathe", or...? The shelf is a Plateau shelf made of MDF with wood veneer. I wouldn't want to "melt" the Rega RP6 above, though I doubt the tube puts out that much heat.
Also, this shelf is roughly at the speaker level... any potential issues with microphonics?
The plan B would be to place it on the floor just to the left of the rack.
Which would you recommend?
The amplifier is to be used as a "power" amplifier, with Yamaha AS-2000 used as a preamplifier / phono stage.
Thank you in advance for your words of wisdom! :)
