The order page limits the quantity to a max of 1 per order.  Does this imply that the price is for a pair of monoblocks?  I may be missing something, but it's ambiguous if the price is per amp or for the pair.  Thanks

Fixed the one per customer limit... obviously you'll need to order a pair for stereo!  The price is per amplifier.

Sorry about that!

Steve,

Any idea of projected tube life for the new Torii monoblocks?

Do the tubes run harder and/or hotter than the other members of the Torii family?

Thanks!
Mike

Tube life is completely in your hands, and generally good.  You can bias the tubes between 50 and 80 milliamps.  Even at 80 mills the KT88's will last on average about two years of regular use.  The Zen TORII MKIII amplifier runs it's tubes at about 50 mils.

Stunning. Luckily for me 60 watts is way more power than I need with my speakers/room size. The Torii fits all my needs regarding muscle.

My needs are met by the Torii too, and I love mine. How's that Heathkit pair of monos doing?

They're great, but I put the Torii back in the system yesterday. The beef is back, so to speak. The Heaths are super fun, and I really would like to try one of their big brothers(maybe the U-5's at 25 watts) for a better comparison with the Torii. But heck, the V caps aren't even broken in yet and so it's not right to compare anyway. But considering what the Heaths cost fully restored and with NOS tubes I like having them in the collection anyway.

Cool. I've heard big Heathkit in the past, good stuff. . .but I am sure I'd prefer the Torii. Smiley

kana813,

I can see no reason why the Tungsol KT120's wouldn't work fine.  I'll let you know as I've ordered a set.
