I have an older ZCD (in fact I believe it is one of the prototypes) which does not seem to be putting out enough signal strength. The system used to respond at very low volume levels but now I must turn the volume way up to hear anything and that anything is not very good and it's accompanied by a low frequency hum. I have tried replacing the tube but no improvement.

Is there anything I can check or does it go to the shop?
